Our Commitment to Open Access

On October 22 as part of Open Access Week, the University of Calgary Press launched our first open-access book - Grey Matters: A Guide to Collaborative Research with Seniors. Written by Nancy Marlett and Claudia Emes, Grey Matters offers groundbreaking, practical methods for participatory action research with and by seniors. 

At the University of Calgary Press we are committed to ensuring that the important work of our authors is accessible to its widest possible audience. We therefore embrace open-access publishing and strive to make as many of our publications as possible available as open-access files that are free to anyone who wishes to download them.  Grey Matters is the first University of Calgary Press title to be released simultaneously in traditional book format and as a free and downloadable PDF from its book page on our website.  Watch for more!
