Western Place/ Women's Space profiles the visual art of three very different, important artists from western Canada. Irene McCaugherty is a folk artist from southern Alberta, best known for her elongated watercolours that depict western history. Esther Warkov, a celebrated Winnipeg artist of North American reputation, has been called both a postmodernist and a surrealist in her fine drawings and paintings. Susan Ross from Thunder Bay is an exceptional printmaker and portrait painter of the Native peoples and the Inuit. Art ~ Canadian Studies ~ History ~ Women's Studies
