Designed for individuals and programs who already have a solid grounding in climbing basics, this program covers specific tools and procedures which are applied to a variety of climbing situations. Each chapter within the video demonstrates an assortment of tools being used to solve various problems in many different environments. Clipping bolts, threading and lowering from fixed anchors, setting up belay stations, crevasse rescue, managing multi-pitch rappels, tying off belay devices, ascending a rope using prusiks; and much more are covered in this 80 minute video. Bruce Hendricks is the Coordinator of the Outdoor Pursuits program (Faculty of Kinesiology) at the University of Calgary. He has guided and instructed throughout the world and has done numerous first ascents on both rock and ice. He has been involved in adventure education since 1979 and holds a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Rodney Steadman is a freelance cameraman, videographer and all-round creative genius based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. |
